The Galaxie at the Capitol

The 1966 Galaxie at the New Hampshire State Capitol in Concord.
Capitol and Capital City History
Completed in 1819, the New Hampshire State House is the nation’s oldest state capitol in which the legislature still occupies its original chambers. Its granite exterior and gilded dome stand prominently in downtown Concord.
New Hampshire’s government had met in several towns before Concord was chosen as the permanent capital in 1808. Its central location on the Merrimack River made it accessible to communities across the state.
