This was our eighty-fifth Courthouse in Texas to visit. That means we are at 33.5% of our goal with 66.5% left to go.
In October of 2005, the Travis County Courthouse was renamed in honor of Heman Marion Sweatt. Sweatt sued the University of Texas in 1946 for denying him admission to the U.T. Law School because he was Black. This marker is displayed at the East side entrance to the courthouse.
