This was our 216th Courthouse in Texas to visit. That means we are at 85% of our goal with 15% left to go.

The building has been dramatically modified over the years.
The front of the Andrews County courthouse faces U.S. 385. Additions to the front, the sides and a large addition to the rear has obscured most of the original building, but perhaps that’s a good thing. A new elevator was being installed during my visit in June, 2006. Aside from the courtroom, the only other interesting thing I saw on the inside was a Kirby vacuum cleaner in a glass case. It’s the one-millionth vacuum cleaner built at the Kirby-West manufacturing plant in Andrews. – Terry Jeanson
